The market opens every Wednesday and has been one of Ibiza’s leading multicultural venues since 1973. It features more than 400 artisans, live music, a dining area with several food trucks, and a children’s area with face painting and workshops.
The official opening of Hippy Market Punta Arabí was attended by the Mayor of Santa Eulària des Riu, Carmen Ferrer; the First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Economic Promotion, Finance and Economy at Santa Eulària des Riu Town Council, Miguel Tur; the manager of FERGUS Style Punta Arabí, Raúl Ariza; Fergus Group’s CMO, Cristina Salmerón; and the president of Avhempa, the Hippy Market Punta Arabí vendors’ association, Paola Podestá.

The Mayor of Santa Eulària des Riu, Carmen Ferrer, said that “today is a day of celebration because it is the first opening day of Hippy Market Punta Arabí, a market that is very important to the municipality and the island in terms of tourism and the economy, because it is the island’s oldest hippy market”. Meanwhile, Paola Podestá, president of Avhempa, the Hippy Market Punta Arabí vendors’ association, said that “the essence of this market has been preserved for more than 50 years, and this year we are very happy to see how it has turned out following the comprehensive renovation that the venue needed”.
Along the same lines, Fergus Group’s CMO, Cristina Salmerón, explained that “at Fergus Hotels, we are very happy to be here today, so close to the opening of the FERGUS Style Punta Arabí hotel. A very important part of this hotel is that its streets host this iconic, emblematic and extensive market, which offers a unique experience for us and for our guests”.

The opening day was warmly received by the public, many of them tourists, who explored this large multicultural venue, enjoying its different stalls, its artisans’ work and musical performances by Angel Wolf, DJ La Cat, Swingintonic Duo and Big Dez Blues Trío.
The market also featured a large central marquee with six food trucks, which will offer a variety of dishes to suit all tastes every Wednesday. From next week, its new restaurants will open too.
Hippy Market Punta Arabí opens every Wednesday from 10:00 to 18:00 during May and October. From June to September, its opening hours are 10:00 to 19:00.
