Everyone knows her as Mona, and she is the queen in the world of Hippy Market children. We sat among families doing crafts and surrounded ourselves with colors everywhere so that she could tell us the story of Hippy Kids.
How did you come up with the idea for this space?
Everything started with his visits to Ibiza ten years ago, and of course, on Wednesdays at the Hippy Market, but the idea came about when she became a mother. She thought it was a lovely market but due to her maternal circumstances, she saw the need for a children’s space within it. So she got to work with the idea, created a proposal and thanks to various supports, here she is seeing the results since 2013, four years and without stopping to come up with new ideas.
What is Hippy Kids?
It is a space dedicated to families, where parents and mothers can rest and children can play. Creative workshops are carried out with the aim of creating a keepsake and being able to take it home. The main idea and what interests Mónica the most is family integration, for parents and children to do crafts together taking advantage that they are on vacation and that in their daily routine, in their cities… they do not have these moments.
What do Hippy Kids families carry?
They take away much more than they think while participating in the workshops. When parents and children are back in their homes, they will always have that beautiful memory of having created something together, every time they look at their dream catcher or their flower crown they will think of that special day of their vacation. Hippy Kids revives the almost lost hippie concept, concepts such as peace, love and above all family unity.
Don’t you just long to go have a good time with your children?
