Hippy Market Punta Arabí, the iconic little market of Es Canar, has inaugurated the 2025 season today with a great reception from the public, hand in hand withFERGUS Style Punta Arabí,the new establishment of this consolidated hotel group that will open its doors on May 15th. This market, which opens every Wednesday and is one of the main multicultural spaces of Ibiza since 1973, has more than 400 craftsmen,live music, a gastronomic space with severalfood trucks,and achildren’s areawith face painting and workshops.
At the official opening of Hippy Market Punta Arabí, the mayor of Santa Eulària des Riu, Carmen Ferrer, the first deputy mayor and city councilor of Economic Promotion, Finance, and Economy of the Santa Eulària des Riu City Council, Miguel Tur, the director of FERGUS Style Punta Arabí, Raúl Ariza, the CMO of Fergus Group, Cristina Salmerón, and the president of the Hippy Market Punta Arabí vendors’ association, Avhempa, Paola Podestá, attended.
The mayor of Santa Eulària des Riu, Carmen Ferrer, highlighted that “today is a day of joy because it is the first day of opening of Hippy Market Punta Arabí, a small market that is very important for the municipality and for the island in terms of tourism and economy because it is the oldest hippy market on the island.” On the other hand, the president of the Hippy Market Punta Arabí vendors association, Avhempa, Paola Podestá, stated that “the essence of this market has been maintained for over 50 years and this year we are very happy to see how it has turned out after a comprehensive reform that this space needed”.
On this line, the CMO of Fergus Group, **Cristina Salmerón**, has explained that “from Fergus Hotels we are very happy to be here today, very close to the opening of the FERGUS Style Punta Arabí hotel, since a very important part of this hotel is that it houses within its streets this emblematic, iconic and large flea market, which represents a unique experience for us and for our customers.”
This inaugural journey has been very well received by the public, many of whom are tourists, who have traveled through this great multicultural space enjoying the different stands, the proposals of their craftsmen, and the musical performances of Angel Wolf, DJ La Cat, Swingintonic Duo and Big Dez Blues Trío.
The market has also featured a large central tent with six food trucks offering a variety of culinary options for all tastes, and starting next week, it will open its new restaurants as well.
Hippy Market Punta Arabí opens every Wednesday from 10:00 to 18:00 during the months of May and October. From June to September its opening hours are from 10:00 to 19:00.
